Within this team, the Staff Community PMM, Trust and Safety will lead product marketing for experiences that help protect redditors and strengthen trust in Reddit. You will help people understand how safety products work, what changes mean for their communities, and how to use the tools available to them.
About the Role
As Staff Community PMM, Trust and Safety, you’ll own inbound and outbound product marketing for safety and platform integrity products. You will bring deep Trust and Safety expertise to product planning and go-to-market execution, turning complex technical capabilities into clear, credible narratives for people on and off Reddit. In this individual contributor role, you will partner closely with Product, Safety, Policy, Community, and Communications teams to launch products, drive adoption, and build understanding of Reddit’s approach to protecting authentic participation.
What you'll do:
- Product and Audience Insights: Use research, community feedback, data, and market insights to identify redditor and moderator needs. Translate these insights into audience segments, product recommendations, and go-to-market priorities.
- Go-to-Market Strategy: Own positioning, messaging, launch goals, and activation plans for Trust and Safety products. Tailor strategies to the needs of different communities and audiences, from early testing through broader rollout.
- Trust and Safety Storytelling: Explain how products address issues such as spam, coordinated manipulation, and harmful behavior. Communicate benefits, limitations, and trade-offs clearly, with care for community trust and the information needed to keep defenses effective.
- Launch Execution: Lead cross-functional launches, including beta programs, community announcements, educational content, and multichannel campaigns. Align partners on readiness, timing, and messaging, and adapt plans as products evolve.
- Community Education and Adoption: Create resources that help redditors and moderators understand safety changes and use relevant tools. Explain how platform protections and community moderation work together, and bring community questions and feedback into product planning.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as the product marketing partner to Product, Engineering, Safety, Policy, User Research, Data Science, Community, and Communications. Build alignment across teams and provide clear recommendations on sensitive launches.
- Measurement and Iteration: Define and track measures of audience understanding, product adoption, and campaign effectiveness. Use results and community feedback to improve messaging, launch plans, and future product direction.
Who you are:
- 12+ years of experience in product marketing with demonstrated ownership of positioning, go-to-market strategy, and product launches for consumer or community audiences
- Deep subject matter expertise in Trust and Safety on social or user-generated content platforms, backed by direct experience bringing safety or integrity products to users and communicating highly sensitive topics
- Strong research and data analysis skills, with experience using qualitative and quantitative insights to prioritize audiences, inform product decisions, and evaluate marketing outcomes.
- Proven ability to influence product strategy and lead complex launches with technical and non-technical partners. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to navigate disagreement and align stakeholders.
- Understanding of online community dynamics, moderator roles, and the relationship between platform safety and community governance.
- Experience managing multiple product workstreams, making decisions in ambiguity, and adapting to changing priorities while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
